This event is organized, within the framework of the
Master in Mathematical Engineering of the
UCM, by the Faculty of Mathematics,
the Research Group "Mathematical Models in Science and Technology:
Development, Analysis, Numerical Simulation & Control" (MOMAT)
and the Institute of Interdisciplinar
Mathematics (IMI).
The purpose is to promote the use of Mathematics
in research, innovation and management in the knowledge economy. The
presentations and exhibitions will take place on 14th and 22nd and
attendance is free for all

The event have 4 parts:
- On Monday, June 14th, 2010 a
representative of each invited company or institution presents a problem to the
participants.
- Then students are separated into
Working Groups and each group is installed in a laboratory equipped with
computers, Internet access and the tools they may need to work from16:00h.
to 21:00h until Monday June 21st, 2010. Each Working Group is coordinated by
one or more teachers.
- On Tuesday, June 22nd each Working
Group does a public presentation describing the main outcomes of their
studied problem.
- Finally, each Working Group writes
(once the event is over) a paper setting out their results and conclusions.
Students
from the Master of Mathematical Engineering at the Complutense University of
Madrid, students from the invited European Masters and a limited number of
students from other Masters may participate in the event.
The official language of the event will be English.
