6th International Workshop on Retrial Queues - 6th WRQ

GENERAL INFORMATION. The main goal of this series of workshops is to provide a meeting point where scientists and technicians in the field can find a discussion forum to promote research and encourage interaction and exchange of ideas. Topics for the 6th WRQ include, but are not limited to Analytical Innovations, Approximations and Computational Methods, Control and Statistical Inference and Applications.

In this edition, the 6th WRQ is organized as a satellite workshop of the Second Madrid Conference on Queueing Theory (http://www.mat.ucm.es/~mcqt/confe06/conf06.html).

CALL FOR PAPERS. A selection of original, high quality contributions will be published in the special issue "Advances in Retrial Queues" of the European Journal of Operational Research. Both theoretical/methodological and application-oriented articles are welcome. Articles submitted to this special issue will be refereed following the usual standards of all major international journals.

Manuscripts should be prepared according to the Guide for Authors that can be found at http://www.authors.elsevier.com/gfa/ejor. They should be written in English and typed on one side of the paper in double or one-and-a-half line spacing throughout, with wide margins, not exceeding 22 printed pages.

Deadline for submissions: May 1st, 2006.

IMPORTANT DATES

March 10, 2006: Deadline for abstract submissions and registration forms.
April 1, 2006: Acceptance notification.
May 1, 2006: Deadline for payment of the MCQT'06 and 6th WRQ fees and deadline for paper submissions to the special issue of EJOR.
July 8: First day of the 6th WRQ.      


REGISTRATION FEE. The 6th WRQ fee is 240 EURO for the participants and 210 EURO for their accompanying persons. This fee covers the booklet of abstracts, full accommodation at the residence "La Cristalera" (conference venue), travel expenses Madrid-conference venue-Madrid and a visit to Segovia.

Those persons desirous of participating in the MCQT'06 and the 6th WRQ should add the registration fee of both events and send the resulting amount by any of the methods of payment described at the website of the MCQT'06 conference (click here).


CONFERENCE VENUE. The meeting will take place at a conference and residence hall called "La Cristalera", at 2 Km. from Miraflores de la Sierra, a small village located 50 Km. north of Madrid. All the participants and their accompanying persons will be accommodated in this residence. This means that all participants and accompanying persons are kindly invited to travel from Madrid to the conference venue by bus in the morning of July 8. Talks will start on July 8 in the afternoon. A visit to Segovia is planned on July 10. Since the returning travel to Madrid will be late in the afternoon, we encourage the participants to book a room at any hotel in Madrid for the night of July 10.
