ABSTRACT

A more precise formula for the Kottman parameter D(X)  connected with the packing /\(X)  in such way that /\(X)= D(X)/(2+ D(X))  for a Banach space X  , in the case when X  is a Musielak-Orlicz sequence space  f
l  , is given. As a corollary, packing constant of the Nakano space  pi
l  , where 1 = pi < +8  for any i= 1,2,...  , is computed. This generalizes the results of Burlak et al. (1958) for  p
l  spaces. It is also proved that   f      f
