ABSTRACT

Let $L$ be a link in $S3$ , and $V1,...,Vl$ solid tori with $@Vi$ being mutually disjoint non-parallel and essential in the exterior of $L$ . We twist $Vi$ , one by one to the meridional direction, and produce a new link $' L$ . The problem is the difference between two link types $L$ and $' L$ .

In the case of knots, some results were got in Ikeda (1993). We will generalize them for the case of links.
