ABSTRACT

In this paper we present a study of the exact controllability, in the boundary, of the generalized telegraph equation

(K (x,t)y')'+ K (x,t)y'+ K (x,t)y- sum n-@-(a (x,t) @y-)= 0 in Q, 1 2 3 i,j=1 @xi ij @xj

where Q is the finite cylinder _O_ ×]0,T[ and O is a bounded domain in n R . The result is obtained by the HUM (Hilbert Uniqueness Method), method introduced by J. L. Lions (1988).
