MCQT'06 GENERAL INFORMATION
The
Madrid Conference on Queueing
Theory
(MCQT) aims to be a meeting place where scientists and technicians in
the
field could find a discussion forum to promote research, encourage
interaction
and exchange ideas. The conference is open to all trends including the
development of the theory, methodology advances, computational aspects
and applications of
Queueing
Theory.

A selection of papers presented at the conference will be published in
special volumes of the journals
Annals of
Operations Research (AOR) and Queueing
Systems (QUESTA). The papers will be refereed following the
usual standards of all major international journals. AOR will devote
one
volume to high quality papers on the topic "Computational Methods and
Applications in Queueing Theory" whereas QUESTA will devote two issues
(200-250 pages) to papers which make a significant contribution to the
topic "Theoretical and Methodological Advances in Queueing Theory".
SOME GENERAL RULES
The 6th International Workshop on Retrial Queues (6th WRQ) will take place on July 8-10, 2006, as a satellite workshop of the MCQT'06. The workshop will be held at La Cristalera, Miraflores de la Sierra, Madrid.

The Organizing Committee will intend to have a few grants for
participants coming from developing countries. Each such a grant will
cover local accommodation and registration fee. Grant applicants must
send no later than October 30, 2005, an extended abstract (no more than
4 pages) and Curriculum Vitae.

WHAT TO DO AT YOUR ARRIVAL TO BARAJAS AIRPORT?
The line 8 of Metro (station Aeropuerto)
connects the airport (terminal
2) with the city. The Metro runs from 6.00 and the last train departs
from the head of each line at 1.30. In addition, for
participants travelling only with cabin luggage, the bus number 200
connects the airport with Avenida de
América Metro station. Of
course, you can also reach the city by taxi. Fare to the downtown
should be around 25 Euro.

HOW TO ARRIVE AT THE CONFERENCE VENUE?
Madrid, the capital of Spain, is
located in the heart of the Iberian Peninsula and has excellent air
connections to and from most leading world cities. Madrid contains a
wide range of sites of historic interest ranging from excellent museums
(Prado Museum, Reina Sofia Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum) to the
Royal Palace, the Madrid of the Austrias and the Monastery of the Royal
Barefoot Franciscans. Many pleasant places can be visited in one day
excursions. These include Toledo (70 km. southwest of Madrid), El
Escorial (50 km. northwest of Madrid) and Segovia (87 km. northwest of
Madrid).
